DBwV
Deutscher BundeswehrVerband
The DBwV is an advocacy organization representing 200,000 people in the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr), with a strong focus on soldiers, and spanning an age range from 17 to over 90. One third of its members are former service members. The association provides legal advice on official matters and works to improve the social framework conditions of service, both during active duty and after leaving the armed forces.
The DBwV is organized at every level, from local groups to district, state, and national representation. It maintains a presence at every military base in Germany and also supports members deployed abroad. Its elected representatives serve on a voluntary basis, supported by around 250 full-time employees.
Through KTMS, the DBwV provides its members with political education, while its subsidiary FöG offers soldier-oriented products. Its social mission is further supported by several foundations that assist members and military families who face hardship through no fault of their own.
Since 2016, the DBwV has relied on tixxt to connect its members nationwide.
