DGE

The German Nutrition Society (DGE) was founded in 1953 and is headquartered in Bonn. It is the leading scientific association for nutrition in Germany and pursues the goal of promoting a balanced and sustainable diet to help people in Germany stay or become healthy. The DGE supports nutritional science research, provides information on new findings and developments, and makes these accessible through publications and events. In addition, the DGE issues scientifically sound dietary recommendations and is responsible for quality assurance in community catering as well as the coordination and quality assurance of nutrition counseling and education content.

The DGE has over 4,000 members, including individuals as well as legal entities such as business associations and companies. Since 2025, the association has been using tixxt to connect its members, promote professional exchange, and advance joint projects for a future-oriented application of nutritional science.
