DWA

The German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA) was founded in 1948 and is headquartered in Hennef. It is a politically and economically independent technical and scientific organization committed to the sustainable management of water and waste. The DWA develops technical rules and standards, promotes research and innovation, and is dedicated to environmental and water protection at both national and international levels.

With around 14,000 members, the DWA brings together experts from municipalities, water and waste management companies, engineering firms, universities, research institutions and public authorities. It organizes conferences, training courses and professional events to enable knowledge transfer and provide practical solutions for current challenges in water management and waste disposal.

Since 2025, the DWA has been using tixxt to connect its members, strengthen professional exchange and advance joint projects for a sustainable future in water, wastewater and waste management.
