German Publishers and Booksellers Association

The German Publishers and Booksellers Association was founded in 1825 and is headquartered in Frankfurt am Main. Today, it represents the interests of 4,000 bookstores, publishers, wholesalers, and other media companies to policymakers and the public. Among its key efforts are the preservation of fixed book pricing and the promotion of fair copyright law.

The association also organizes the Frankfurt Book Fair and awards the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade and the German Book Prize, thereby actively supporting the preservation of books as cultural assets and the freedom of expression.

Since 2025, the association has been using tixxt to better structure its membership.
