Founded in 1950, the Association of Piping Companies (rbv) consists of 10 regional groups with a total of around 600 members. The purpose of rbv is to promote technology and science in pipeline construction and network services for water and wastewater management, energy supply, and telecommunications. In addition, the association represents the interests of its members.

The rbv also offers training programs and collaborates with public authorities and other institutions.

Since 2025, the rbv has been using tixxt to strengthen networking among its members.
