VDR
German Shipowners’ Association
The German Shipowners’ Association (VDR) is a leading business association in the German economy. It was founded in 1907 by regional shipowners’ associations to establish a unified and coordinated voice for the industry. Today, VDR represents German shipping not only in Berlin and Bonn but also in Brussels, London, Geneva, and at the global level. With around 150 member companies from across the maritime sector, the association represents Germany’s shipping industry, which currently operates the world’s fifth-largest merchant fleet. As an employers’ association, it also conducts collective bargaining and social partner negotiations.
Since 2016, VDR has been using tixxt as a workspace and member portal, bringing together around 500 members.
